Stewardship, purpose, and a lifelong love of the breed.

At Marge’s Majestic, preservation breeding means looking beyond a single generation. We honor the beauty, soundness, temperament, and distinct character that make Russian Salon Dogs and Biewer Terriers so special.

Our dogs are treasured members of the family. They are raised at home in the quiet mountains of Southwest Virginia, surrounded by individual care and the kind of everyday love that helps a confident companion flourish.

Healthy Snacks & Treats

Fresh fruits and vegetables can be a lovely occasional treat when they are prepared safely, served plain, and offered in small portions.

Fresh & simple

Safe Veggies

  • Carrots: Crunchy and low-calorie; good for teeth and packed with beta-carotene.
  • Green Beans: High in fiber and low in calories; safe raw or plain-cooked.
  • Cucumbers: Very hydrating and low in fat or carbohydrates.
  • Sweet Potatoes: Rich in vitamins and fiber; must be cooked and unseasoned.
  • Pumpkin: Plain, cooked, or pureed pumpkin helps with digestion and stomach issues.
  • Broccoli & Cauliflower: Safe in small, chopped amounts, though broccoli should be fed sparingly to prevent gas.
  • Zucchini & Peas: Gentle on the stomach and easy to digest when cut small.
  • Spinach & Celery: Safe in small pieces for extra vitamins and hydration.
Naturally sweet

Safe Fruits

  • Apples: Crunchy and full of fiber and vitamins A and C. Always remove the core and seeds.
  • Blueberries & Strawberries: Packed with antioxidants and vitamin C.
  • Bananas: High in potassium, though they should be given sparingly due to natural sugar content.
  • Watermelon & Cantaloupe: Very hydrating; remove all rinds and seeds first.
  • Mango & Pears: Safe in small pieces after peeling and removing any pits or seeds.
  • Cranberries & Oranges: Safe in small amounts. Peel oranges first.
Keep away

Foods to Always Avoid (Toxic)

  • Onions, Garlic, Leeks, and Chives: Can cause red blood cell damage in dogs.
  • Grapes and Raisins: Can cause sudden kidney failure.
  • Avocados: Contain persin, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
  • Cherries & Apple/Peach Seeds/Pits: Can contain trace toxins or cause choking and intestinal blockage.
Serving safely

Feeding Tips

  • Cut into tiny pieces: Because they are a small toy breed, large chunks pose a severe choking hazard.
  • Keep it plain: Avoid any butter, oil, salt, garlic, or spices from human recipes.
  • The 10% rule: Fruits and vegetables should only make up about 10% of your dog’s daily calorie intake, with the remaining 90% coming from a balanced dog food.

Diezale, a Biewer Terrier from Marge's Majestic, wearing a silver-and-black sparkly bow

Joyful spirit in an elegant little companion.

The Biewer Terrier is bright, affectionate, and full of charm. Beneath the breed’s flowing tri-color coat is a devoted companion with a playful nature, graceful presence, and a wonderful love for family life.

A brief history

The breed’s story began in Germany in 1984, when Yorkshire Terrier breeders Gertrud and Werner Biewer welcomed an unusual blue, white, and gold puppy. Captivated by her distinctive coloring, they established the breeding program that became the foundation of today’s elegant tri-colored Biewer Terrier.

Beauty, balance, and a heart made for companionship.

Skripuchiy, a Russian Salon Dog from Marge's Majestic, wearing a silver-and-black sparkly bow

Gentle devotion wrapped in silky beauty.

The Russian Salon Dog is a rare and affectionate companion admired for its soft, flowing coat — which comes in a beautiful variety of colors — and sweet expression. Gentle, attentive, and happiest near the people they love, these little dogs bring warmth and quiet elegance to the home.

The story of the “mermaid”

The Russkaya Salonnaya Sobaka—known in English as the Russian Salon Dog—was created in Moscow in the early 2000s through the careful crossing of miniature breeds. The breed earned the affectionate nickname “mermaid” for its long, flowing coat and elegant, fluid beauty.

Its first breed description was written in 2006, and the official breed standard was approved in 2013. Cheerful, balanced, and tender, these little dogs were developed to be devoted companions as well as distinctive examples of Russian canine artistry.

Full credit belongs to Yulia Lakatosh, the zootechnical and canine specialist and Russian dog show judge who founded the breed and guided its thoughtful development.
